From our frineds at United Way:

2-1-1 Sandy Recovery Helpline Volunteers

through November 2012

United Way’s 2-1-1 call center is still receiving thousands of calls from people seeking storm recovery resources. Volunteers are needed to work side-by-side with trained staff to connect callers with information on food, FEMA, and other related services. Training provided.

Volunteers are especially needed during week day hours. Shifts are from 9am-2pm, 1pm-6pm, and 5pm-8pm. Volunteers are asked to commit to coming to the center for at least two shifts over the next two weeks. Sign up with a friend or spouse! Minimum age for phone volunteers is 21. Youth, age 16 and up, are needed to help with inputting call data into the system so United Way can report on new trends in caller needs.
