NYSEIA Looks forward to Solar Jobs Act in 2012
Westchester/Bronx Energy $mart Communities (E$C) partnered with the New York Solar Energy Industries Association (NYSEIA) to honor the organizations and individuals who continue to work tirelessly to further the progress of the New York Solar Jobs Act.
The September 21st event was sponsored by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), and also included industry networking and an awards ceremony for the best solar projects of the year. The winners, in various categories:

Greatest Industry Solar Champion Ron Kamen
Solar manufacturers and installers, non-profit organizations dedicated to the advancement of solar technology, renewable energy policy advocates and environmental interests attended the event, hosted at the elegant Tappan Hill Mansion in Tarrytown, NY.
Ron Kamen, who will soon step down as NYSEIA President, conveyed an inspiring message to the diverse audience-namely, that solar technology was becoming more and more affordable, creating a stronger market. He also projected that continued advancement in supportive legislation would achieve the top item on everyone's agenda today-creating jobs.
Supporters of the Solar Jobs Act from the National Resources Defense Council and Vote Solar also spoke to E$C about the advantages of investing in the solar industry.
E$C will continue to work with NYSEIA and solar industry professionals to support the renewable energy market in New York State.
