Meeting The EPA Heavy-Duty Truck Fuel Economy Standards

Last week the Obama administration proposed first ever (and long overdue) fuel economy standards for heavy-duty trucks.  Using already existing technologies like clean-idling, hybrid-electric systems, fuel efficient tires and wheels, and advanced transmissions,  these standards are proposed for vehicles to be manufactured in 2014 and beyond.  Timothy Hurst in Earth and Industry writes 6 Ways Trucks Will Meet New Fuel and Emissions Standards.
